About Willow James, Wade Magee, Patrick Kinsley, Zachariah Red
Willow James is a group based out of Dallas, Texas. Their sound is hard to pinpoint but includes elements of Folk, Rock, Blues, Americana, Country and everything in-between. While the group is still new, they are catching the attention of any and all that come across them. Willow James is led by guitarist/vocalist Dan O'Connell, the primary songwriter, and also includes Joel Armstrong on bass and Dillon Ryan on drums.
Dan has played guitar for around ten years, and singing for about four. As his songwriting continues to develop, the listener can hear several influences from the sixties folk and rock scenes to more recent Texas country acts and whatever else catches his ear. Dan and Joel became friends in college and eventually started playing together, forming what would eventually become Willow James. They eagerly brought in Dillon, one of Dan's oldest friends, who quickly became an integral part of the band.
They continue to write new songs and rework older songs to share with their audience. As their confidence on stage has grown, on-lookers can clearly see they love what they are doing when on stage. They have recorded a demo that is given away for free at shows, though donations are accepted, and a "part two" is in production.
Willow James is very driven and always eager to get out and play, often holding acoustic practices in very-public locations. For them, it's all about finding a group of friends and fans with a love of good music.
Outlaw Folk from East Nashville.
A carpenter by trade, Zachariah Red was born and raised on the shores on Lake Michigan in Racine, WI, a once thriving midwestern town that now sits checkered with abandoned factories.
Zachariah in no stranger to hard work and turmoil. Through his blend of driving midwestern country, rock'n'roll, and acoustic tunes, his songs tell the stories of America's backbone. From hard times and addiction to the little things in life, faith, and happiness.
In a scene dominated by prepackaged label-groomed artists, Zachariah Red is a breath of fresh air with music by and for common, blue-collar Americans.
