About Tommy & Josh
I Am Blox is more than a Hip-Hop group or band, it's a movement. Blox is a character that represents the everyday person, working constantly for success, and "Blocking" out the negativity that always comes around when you begin to succeed. The term "I Am Blox" is taken on by everyone that is moved by our music. We all share the same struggle in one form or another we all strive for success.
Chris Hart and Armando Aldas, better known by their stage title of Blox and Hart, met over 10 years ago in a small, local guitar shop. From that day forward they have been writing music together and for several other projects on the way. In early 2010 they met up once again as Hart was working in the Hip-Hop industry producing and writing for several different artist across the country. Armando Blox, or Blox for short had just finished a long run, playing guitar with the band Empire Holiday. Paul Wade and Blox approached Hart about recording a new concept they had in mind. Hart was actually so impressed with their ideas that he decided to come aboard as pianist and in house producer. Eventually the three hit it off and co wrote the band The Etiquette which is still thriving and playing shows today. The more Hart got involved in the writing process a new element came out of the sound, it was a new kind of hip hop that mixed several genres from blues and jazz all the way to rock and pop. This was obviously turning into another sound that wasn't on the same track as The Etiquette which is more of and indie/pop rock band. Which means they doubled down working countless hours and rehearsing two bands at a time, but low and behold I AM BLOX was born alongside The Etiquette. We had two projects side by side that we were equally impressed with and excited about, but we had one problem, we needed a band. After years of tryouts and rehearsals both band debuted, with Haesler DaSilva on bass, and Zac Vancil on drums, at the beginning of 2014 to amazing turnouts, even going as far as playing on the same stage for their second show.
Hart and Blox write from deep inside their souls. When you listen to their music they want you to not only be taken back by the instrumentation, but they focus heavily on lyrical content. From making you understand the pain in the lyric to making you laugh at a funny line, they always try and keep it fresh.
So join the movement, and come with us on our journey, as it has only begun...
