About The Vandoliers CD Release Show

Following a handful of releases with his loud and dirty rock trio The Phuss – including 2014’s "On the Prowl" – Joshua Fleming took something of a detour with his next project. On New Year’s Day Fleming resolved to spend 2015 making a country record.
Not one to throw around terms like supergroup, the ragtag bunch of rockers and longtime country vets – John Pedigo (The O’s), Jack Russell (Whiskey Folk Ramblers), Cory Graves (Whiskey Folk Ramblers),
Dustin Fleming (Vinyl), Guyton Sanders (The Happy Bullets) and Travis Curry (Armadillo Creek) – is no less super. Nevertheless, the Vandoliers manage to blaze a trail all their own, mixing in healthy doses of honky-tonky and bar rock into its trademark brand of Ameri-Kinda, a genre that they, admittedly, just made up. But then, taking traditional formulas into uncharted territories is part of what makes the band so goddamn fun.

Within a year of releasing their first record Dead Flowers has shared the stage with acts such as, Murder City Devils, The Reverend Horton Heat, The Whigs, and Chuck Ragan. When they aren't hosting touring bands, they're filling venues with local bands.

Quickly gaining respect as one of the most exciting up-and-coming bands out of Dallas, Texas, they are angsty, aggressive, loud, sincere and simply put- rock n' roll.

While they're certainly not trying to reinvent the wheel, Dead Flowers is comprised of members who's musical upbringings differ in drastic proportion; thus creating a sound that's beginning to gain notoriety not limited to their city, state, or country.

Chucho got their name from a Mexican bandit (Chucho el Roto) from the late 1800's who robbed from the wealthy and gave to the poor earning him Mexican Robin Hood status. High five.

Kenny Uptain, Katie Robertson and James Hughes all came together in the blues rock band Foxtrot Uniform that Kenny formed with Kelly Test (Polyphonic Spree, Cooder Graw, Pat Green, 1100 Springs). The band gained attention in the Dallas/Fort Worth area first as a 2 piece, then 3, then 4 and finally ended on 5 members with the addition of James Hughes.

Kris Luther and Brady Hamilton met and connected in the solid Fort Worth band The Hanna Barbarians. After tearing the Dallas/Fort Worth scene a new one for several years, the two formed a new band with Joey Gorman and Alex Zobel called The Longshots. That band was signed to Mock Records...a subsidiary of The Strokes Julian Casablancas' French Kiss Records...and has toured the country extensively hitting NYC's CMJ and Austin's SXSW festival...being mentioned on both festivals as "artists to see" for all folks attending.

The Longshots and Foxtrot Uniform are both still working bands, but the 5 decided to team together to show the country blues scene what they believe is a lacking presence on hard living, solid songwriting, well produced records coming from the home of it all...Texas.

The band will team with producer Jason Robert Burt in the coming months to record and release their first record. Very soon new music will be available and fun times will be had.

Please stick around, share and like the page and stay tuned for new shows to be announced very soon. LOVE. MUSIC. TEXAS.
