Responsible Johnny
Remember the feeling that you got the first time you heard Henry Rollins screaming out the lyrics to Rise Above? The first time you realized that if The Ramones could strap on guitars and take on the world, then anyone could? Responsible Johnny does.
Tired of the crap coming out of the radio, Responsible Johnny is reaching back to the past, when three chords were all you needed and being punk wasn't defined by the style of your Hot Topic studded wristbands, it was defined by the chip on your shoulder and what was in your soul. And they plan to keep those values alive until they get a major label deal, a coke habit, stripper wives, and a pony.
From Parts Unknown
Dallas, Texas’ rock and roll trio, From Parts Unknown, is redefining what it truly means to be a thrilling and dynamic live band by mixing rock, punk, metal, and similar genres together and delivering it in a high energy show.
Singer/guitarist Ben McCracken (Chesterfield Kings, The Trusted Few), drummer Kyle Owen (Dying Ground, The Trusted Few), and upright bass player Chris Parrish (Eerie Ln, Sawed Off Sick, Hotrod Hillbillies) formed the group in 2014 and immediately went to work writing new material, perfecting their stage show, booking gigs and recording their first release.
The Lash Outs
The Lash Outs have returned to the studio and once again enlisted Stephen Egerton (Descendents, ALL, FLAG) to engineer and produce their third full length album, "State of Excess."
Building on the songs of "Elation and Shame," Dallas's own return with another energetic, literate set loosely based on DFW's current socioeconomic status. Don't worry - the Lash Outs don't take themselves seriously enough to release an album based on their politics (or lack thereof). Nor would they expect or want anyone to care about them. Instead, these songs merely express a common dude's observations of consumerism and spoiled young people paired with the familiar themes of fear, anxiety, and social ineptitude.
Musically, some have commented that the Lash Outs have come into their own as songwriters with this new batch of catchy numbers. While still borrowing from their punk, power pop, and early rock and roll influences they have also incorporated more hard rock riffage and flirtations with heavy metal into their songs. Other creative ideas seem to have (deceivingly) appeared out of thin air. When all of these elements come together, the Lash Outs create a fun and sometimes unpredictable listening experience.
The Dolly Llamas
The Dolly Llamas aka Forrest James and Something Strange are made up of Jett Middlebrooks on drums and the Llama Man Forrest Cook on Gits, yells and angelic melodies. We play what we want and try to have as much fun as we can pack into these jams as possible. Long time friends, this hooligan association has blossomed into something as beautiful as two putrid slime balls can get. This is a garage band. We play Rock and Roll in punk rock jackets. Forrest is a long time skater, writer, punker, and devout follower of the Cthulhu cult, while Jett sticks to video games, horror movies, and plain old Beelzebub. This is a fun band, so smile... and enjoy the music.
