About Reinventing Jude, The Obscure Dignataries feat. 8th St. Orkestar, Poppy Xander

Jude began reinventing herself through music at age 11 when she picked up her mother's twenty-year-old classical guitar and began pouring her heart and soul out into handfuls of songs every week. Inspired by a wide array of music, the songs contain playful, yet passionate swings of personality. By the ripe old age of 27, she has written over 800 songs!

On Christmas Day of 2007, she left Tyler for the Dallas area in search of a better music scene, collaborating with various musicians, such as Zuriel from Paco Estrada, Sammy Strittmatter, Grant Braudrick from Champa, David Willingham from Aton, Jordan Franz & many more.

In March of 2010, she released her demo "Raw" featuring 'Wakin Up Slowly' which has earned her a small following throughout North Texas and continues to be a favorite among her fans.

On July 28, 2010, Reinventing Jude was graced by the presence of Todd Howe and Eric Wilson of Sublime. They recorded a jam session song "Addicted" that Jude wrote which may be released soon as a bootleg gift to her fans.

With a full band in tow, the future is showing great promise for this young artist with an old soul and a 6-piece Rock outfit of various genres. Combined, they push themselves to create an independent sound that is sincere, new, and worthy of the high-biased music fan.

From Gypsy dances to Bulgarian ballads, Americana spirituals to Brazilian Samba, the Obscure Dignitaries hope to take you around the world with their unique brand of musicianship and style. Hailing from various obscure and forgotten corners of the earth, the four now Dallas-based dignitaries strive to play a blend of world music they've encountered throughout their inconspicuous travels, building on traditional ethnic rhythms with their mix of vocals, guitar, double bass, and any other instruments they come across...

Poppy Xander is a singer-songwriter from Dallas, TX. Classically trained on piano and voice, she graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Music. After playing keys with a metal band in high school, and spending years on rock and indie projects, Xander decided to concentrate on composing and song writing. This led to her solo debut album, "Snake in the Grass" (2014) which was produced, composed, and performed by Xander and engineered at Palmyra Studios with Pappy Middleton and Sam Damask.

Xander is currently recording a new EP titled "Don't Keep Calm" that features her original compositions on piano and voice as well as the introduction of violin, flute, tuba, drums, and bass into her score. Currently, she performs with a variety of musicians, always keeping things new and alive, sometimes using only herself and a drummer to project the sound of heavy piano rock and sometimes a more intimate setting of piano and violin.
