About Natalia LaFourcade
Winner of 4 2015 Latin Grammys
"...her most introspective work yet...Lafourcade's new album is about going back to her roots... The result is an album that feels intimate – full of heartbreak and pain, but also moments of regeneration, in which life is beginning anew." - Los Angeles Times
"Hasta la Raiz bristles with a sense of adventure and optimism."

"[Natalia] offers a fresh and honest pop that reflects the musical maturity that she has reached in her 13-year career, reaffirming her place as one of the most important songwriters and singers in Latin America." - Rolling Stone
Born Natalia Lafourcade Silva on February 26, 1984, in Mexico City, Lafourcade took an early interest in music, first from her parents were both musicians. She knew at an early age that she wanted to become an artist, and over the course of her childhood she studied accordingly: painting, theater, and music, including such instruments as flute, guitar, piano, and saxophone, as well as singing. Signed to Sony Music Mexico at the age of 17 her eponymous debut album went 3X platinum and earned three Latin Grammy nominations and one Grammy nomination.
Since her debut, Lafourcade has been on an artistic journey that has garnered more critical acclaim (winning a Latin Grammys for "Casa" in 2006 and two Latin Grammys for "Mujer Divina" in 2013) and an ever increasing audience, culminating in the April 2015 release of the album "Hasta la Raiz." The album, which debuted No. 1 on the Mexican sales charts and has remained in the top 5 ever since, is widely considered Lafourcade's finest work to date. In the words of music reviewer, Matt Hobbs, "... the album is delightfully smooth and so enjoyable it's easy to forget it's in Spanish. It's a musical gem for Mexico, who should soon declare Natalia Lafourcade as a national treasure." In her more modest assessment, Lafourcade simply says, "[this album] allowed me for the first time to create music without any mask... I just kind of opened my soul and got rid of the fear of what might come musically and lyrically... It's very personal."
