About Keegan McInroe, Chucho, Jacob Furr
Keegan McInroe is a Texas based singer-songwriter. Weaving threads from old country, old blues, gospel, and rock & roll together with his own unique voice and perspective, McInroe creates an original tapestry of American roots music, earthy and lyric driven.
In 2003, Keegan McInroe participated in founding rock & roll outfit, Catfish Whiskey (2003-2009), in Fort Worth, TX. Since 2008, he has troubadoured primarily as a solo artist performing and rambling all over Texas, the united States, and Europe.
McInroe has shared the stage with Leon Russell, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Ian Moore, Eric McFadden, Otis Taylor, Randall Bramblett and The Band of Heathens.
Chucho got their name from a Mexican bandit (Chucho el Roto) from the late 1800's who robbed from the wealthy and gave to the poor earning him Mexican Robin Hood status. High five.
Kenny Uptain, Katie Robertson and James Hughes all came together in the blues rock band Foxtrot Uniform that Kenny formed with Kelly Test (Polyphonic Spree, Cooder Graw, Pat Green, 1100 Springs). The band gained attention in the Dallas/Fort Worth area first as a 2 piece, then 3, then 4 and finally ended on 5 members with the addition of James Hughes.
Kris Luther and Brady Hamilton met and connected in the solid Fort Worth band The Hanna Barbarians. After tearing the Dallas/Fort Worth scene a new one for several years, the two formed a new band with Joey Gorman and Alex Zobel called The Longshots. That band was signed to Mock Records...a subsidiary of The Strokes Julian Casablancas' French Kiss Records...and has toured the country extensively hitting NYC's CMJ and Austin's SXSW festival...being mentioned on both festivals as "artists to see" for all folks attending.
The Longshots and Foxtrot Uniform are both still working bands, but the 5 decided to team together to show the country blues scene what they believe is a lacking presence on hard living, solid songwriting, well produced records coming from the home of it all...Texas.
The band will team with producer Jason Robert Burt in the coming months to record and release their first record. Very soon new music will be available and fun times will be had.
Please stick around, share and like the page and stay tuned for new shows to be announced very soon. LOVE. MUSIC. TEXAS.
Do-It-Yourself is not a new idea to the family of Jacob Furr. His history is one of work that sweats through blue collars and hardens hands, and his songs are a precise art that expose personal struggles and triumphs of love. Each song is an honest telling of story or emotion, careful to maintain integrity of structure and usefulness of line.
