About Elder, King Buffalo

Elder is the definition of a work in progress, as the group continues to meld the familiar sounds of Sleep's colossal riffage with their ever-evolving vision of soaring melodies and sonic soundscapes. Listeners will find themselves locked into the trio's lengthy epics, which toe the line between the chasms of classic stoner metal and mindblowing psychedelia.

Since the release of 2010?s Dead Roots Stirring, their second full-length record for MeteorCity Records, Elder has continued to push their sound in more dynamic and inspiring directions, while still holding true to their original methodology: all heavy, no filler.

Born from the ashes of Rochester's best (Velvet Elvis / Abandoned Buildings Club). They invade your ears with heavy driving riffs and a familiar groove. Psychedelic, blues and stoner overtones combine with thunderous bass and drums, reminiscent of heavy 70?s rock. A wall of sound, a trio of soaring vocals, and an unrelenting pace merge to form their own musical styling. King Buffalo is committed to being a unique and progressive recording artist, while performing live with an unapologetic heavy groove.

Currently they are awaiting the release of their 12? split with Sweden's Le Betre on STB Records, which is due winter 2014/2015. They have also been asked to record "House Burning Down" as part of a Jimi Hendrix Electric Ladyland Compilation on Magnetic Eye Records. This will feature some amazing bands, including Earthless, Mothership, Wo Fat, The Budos Band, All Them Witches, Elder and many more. Artwork will done by David Paul Seymour. King Buffalo's full length debut has been heavily anticipated, since the release of their 3 song demo from November of 2013. They are currently in the writing process of all brand new material. They plan to release it in early 2015.
