About Celebrate Operation Kindness’ 40th Anniversary at Dog Day Afternoon

The Largest Festival in Dallas Celebrating Dogs and the People Who Love Them

Gather your furry friends and come out to Operation Kindness’ Dog Day Afternoon – the largest festival in Dallas celebrating dogs and the people who love them. This year Operation Kindness will celebrate their 40th anniversary at the annual free event on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at Flag Pole Hill near White Rock Lake.

Operation Kindness, the original and largest no-kill animal shelter in North Texas, created Dog Day Afternoon to recognize dog supporters, adopters and advocates. This year’s event, sponsored by Pet Supplies Plus, will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Flag Pole Hill, 8100 Doran Circle in Dallas. Admission and parking are free. Highlights include:

• “Mutt Midway” with dozens of vendors selling a wide variety of pet-related merchandise, puppy kissing booth and games with prizes
• Canine contests with trophies and prizes, including: Best Costume, Stupid Pet Tricks and Best Pooch Smooch; sponsored by Natural Balance Pet Foods
• Food trucks selling an assortment of food and drinks, including: Kona Ice, The Great Australian Meat Pie Company, Popstar Popsicles and many more
