About Wyatt Lowe & The Mayhem Kings

Wyatt Lowe is cocktail mix of vintage 50s rockabilly/blues, American Roots, and “Analog Rock N Roll” (Social Distortion meets Jimmie Vaughan). The band consists of Wyatt Lowe (Lead Guitar/Vocals) and the Mayhem Kings; Marty Camino (upright Bass), Pete Closson (Drums), and Jason Fritts (Saxophone). Wyatt Lowe has quickly turned into a hot new artist with potent power focused on playing driving, soulful Rockabilly, Blues and Roots.

~~~~~~~~
Wyatt Lowe was born and raised into the blues at Chappy’s Roadhouse, his family’s BBQ and Blues restaurant in Temecula, California. “Sodapop” would stand at the edge of the stage and watch the best regional Southern California blues players perform. The next day, he would be found at home in front of the mirror, harp in one hand and his play guitar in the other workin’ it out. At the age of 8, he began guitar lessons and found his true musical passion in rock n roll and blues. His style and tone is a cross over between traditional rockabilly, blues and roots giving his music a punch.
Wyatt is sponsored by the Nocturne Brain Guitar Pedals, Lucky 13 Apparel and Layrite Pomade.
Equally at home on both electric and upright, bassist Marty Camino brings a unique style and energy to the group. He studied upright bass and jazz at the University of Wyoming and earned a Master’s Degree in music from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He has enjoyed performing in a variety of styles all over the world, from jazz in Alaska to symphonies in Bolivia and bluegrass in Croatia. With a diverse range of experience and musical interests, Marty blends his vast influences into a style of playing that is flexible yet solid, simple yet refined.
One word to describe drummer Pete Closson is versatility. Pete has performed throughout the country in a wide variety of groups playing jazz, rock, blues, funk, Latin, country, reggae, polka – you name it. But he has “legit” chops, too. His classical percussion experience includes extensive work in numerous symphony orchestras, concert bands, chamber ensembles and pit orchestras. Pete received his music degree from Eastern Michigan University, where he also did his grad work in percussion performance. He left Michigan for a ten-year stay in Telluride, Colorado before moving to the Jackson Hole area in 2010. Pete is extremely tight in the pocket bringing his unique style and attitude to the band.
Jason Fritts is a key addition to the group. Jason has been in the Jackson Hole area since 1992 and conducts the Jazz Foundation of Jackson Hole’s 20-piece Big Band. He studied saxophone at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts as well as at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where he earned a Master’s Degree in music. Blending in the traditional sounds of John Coltrane mixed with Sam Butera, Jason’s saxophone playing brings an original sound to the band with a taste of that vintage 50s style.
