About Wrong Voltage, The Basement Snakes, The Pengwins

Wrong Voltage plays obscure gems from the glam rock and proto-punk era to folks who love that sort of thing or just like to get in free to see a great live band.

Comprised of members of numerous tempests in a teacup (The Nurse, The Rovers, The Used Electrics, The Waltons) and local power pop legend Lannie Flowers, Wrong Voltage rocks the coolest set of songs you (probably) haven’t heard.

The Basement Snakes are a classic rock band that focuses on nuggets from the sixties and seventies. They played the North Texas circuit from 2003 to 2009 and after a six year hiatus, are reforming with (mostly) original members to perform on this special night.

The Pengwins - If you were in college between 1975 and 1995 you probably saw this legendary Fort Worth band. The Pengwins cut their formidable teeth on the Texas bar circuit and later took their brand of roadhouse rock n' roll with pop sensibilities on semi-annual jaunts out to the Right Coast. In their initial 15 year career , tremendously popular with kids of all ages, The Pengwins joins that tragically elite segment of great bands that never got a big record company contract. They garnered significant attention from such seminal music icons as Rick Derringer and Jim Dickenson (famed producer of Big Star and The Replacements), both of whom produced later recording sessions for The 'Gwins. Though personnel changed significantly over the years, lead singer/songwriter/guitarist Lannie Flowers (the punk rocker no dog would bite!) kept the band true to its British Invasion meets The Lone Star State roots and many fine musicians are proud to claim the heritage of being a Pengwin. The Pengwins re-formed in 2005 and have
been recording and playing select venues since!
