About The Supervillians
The Supervillains are one of the most recognizable names in reggae. This fun-loving foursome is back with an overwhelming fury fueled by everything that everyone lives and loves about reggae punk rock music. The Supervillains have teamed with rock producer Brett Hestla (of Virgos Merlot and Dark New Day fame) to put the finishing touches on their anxiously awaited 6th full length album that is slated to debut during their nation-wide headlining 'Ehh Brah, Party' fall 2010 tour.
"We're really excited to go out with our great friends, Ballyhoo! and the B foundation..." In keeping with their expected tour regime, the 'Ehh Brah, Party' tour is a 30 day/30 venue jaunt (Oct 21-Nov 21) featuring fellow party animals and reggae-rock favorites Ballyhoo! and the B Foundation. When they get together it's all about fun and amazing music, so 'Ehh Brah, Party' promises to be the 'life of the party' among tours, exactly what fans have grown to love and expect from The Supervillains. Lead singer and drummer of The Supervillains, Dom Maresco says about their headlining tour, 'We're really excited to go out with our great friends, Ballyhoo! and the B foundation. We all have a history together and this tour promises to be a non-stop party, Brah!'
If people need another reason to come check out the tour, The Supervillains are playing extended sets that debut their new material and showcases a more mature sound in addition to the fan favorite hits of the past. 'It's all about having fun' says Scott 'Skart' Suldo, co-founder and guitarist of The Supervillains, 'Ain't nothin' but a party'.
"...mixture of 1 part ska, 2 parts reggae with a splash of punk rock..."The Supervillains are fronted by drummer, Dom Maresco, and guitarist, Scott 'Skart' Suldo, with their sweet infallible harmonies, within the reggae format, expressing their witty and humorously edgy lyrics that give way to their truly infectious personalities. Heavy, crowd-moving bass lines are set forth by bassist Dan Grundorf. The Supervillains' musical style is best described as the perfectly concocted, intoxicating mixture of 1 part ska, 2 parts reggae with a splash of punk rock, as they successfully fuse their ska-like funk with smart lyrical storytelling skills and hard-hitting guitar riffs.
Their live performance is never forgettable, as their comedic onstage antics and exchanges make it a show within a show. They are one of the hardest touring reggae acts, with an average 200+ shows a year. They have been on over a dozen national tours with some of the nation's hottest acts. They have supported reggae tours ( The Wailers, Inner Circle), reggae-rock tours ( Slightly Stoopid , Pepper ), ska tours (Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto), rock legends (Fishbone, The English Beat), major festivals (Wakarusa and Earthday Birthday) and have twice been on the east-coast leg of the Jagermeister Music Tour.
