Panther Jazz

Panther Jazz is an eight piece jazz ensemble based in Fort Worth, Texas. Instrumentation includes a tenor sax, two trumpets, a trombone, piano, bass, drums, guitar and auxiliary percussion. Our most recent appearances have been at the Lightcatcher Winery, Embargo Club, and Trinity Terrace social hour. We are currently searching for a permanent venue to feature our exciting live jazz music.

Panther Jazz performs music in swing, Latin, rock, ballad, country and Dixieland styles. Our music includes compositions by Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Glen Miller, Thelonious Monk, George Gershwin, Count Basie, and many others. We also can provide music for jazz vesper service. Our members include Gary Strother on sax, Ken Hicks on Trumpet and vocals, Wayne Adamiec on flute and trumpet, Chuck Compher on trombone, Mike Garvey on piano, Richard Shafer on drum set, Jim Sharples on bass, and Karel Stewart on auxiliary percussion.
