About Music For Mental Health

This annual benefit concert, started in 2014, was created to help Fort Worth high schoolers make a difference in their community. All of the proceeds go to the LOSS Team at Mental Health America of Greater Tarrant County for suicide prevention and awareness. In our first year, we raised almost $5,000, and with your help, we would like to make $8,000. With 6 acts of varying music genres, the show is bound to entertain all types of music consumers and show the hidden talent in Fort Worth. Special thanks to our 27 volunteers and 11 musicians for their hard work. Please consider supporting us online through donations and social media, and come see us on Wednesday December 9th, 2015 at 7 PM. Admission $10. (Additional donations encouraged)

Sloan Struble: A sixteen year old born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He taught himself how to play the guitar at the age of ten and has been writing songs since. He loves discovering music, making movies, meeting new people, and drinking chocolate milk.

Harriette Hull: Harriette is a sophomore at Country Day who has been singing and playing guitar for years. Genre: Singer/ songwriter, Acoustic

Kate Claunch, Sarah Boone, and Brendan O’Toole: Please refrain from asking where we will be attending college. (Kate- Guitar/ Vocals, Sarah- Vocals, Brendan- Bass)

Thomas Goetz: playing guitar for four years, Thomas Goetz loves to play many different genres of music. He is currently in a rock band called “Panic Switch” and also plays guitar in the varsity jazz band at Paschal High School, and even had the chance to pal at Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. As a solo artist, however, Thomas implements lengthy guitar solos influenced by Joe Bonamassa and Eric Clapton in his music. Music will always be a passion and he is constantly looking for the next place to perform.

Kristin Robinson: Creator of Music for Mental Health and of simple, honest songs. Take a listen to my work sometime, and support the show. Thank you. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHNEb3NbFH51CVEz9v8LFVA

The Tendons: The Tendons are a hard rock band that play mostly covers and few original songs. Their influences range from rock and metal acts of the 70s to the grunge era of the 90s, among others. Fronted by the often shirtless Walker Payne, the Tendons deliver a great live, often getting crowds “hyped”. The Tendons are thrilled to participate in Music for Mental Health, and hope to see as many people as possible to support this good cause!
