About I Am Clark Kent, Marshall Young Band

It all started when sax player Daniel Matthews approached Riley Cottrell about being in a ska band in their high school jazz band class. They both gathered some friends in the jazz band and began to write the first few I Am Clark Kent songs. Nick Via became the drummer, Andrew "Red" Harvard hopped on bass and Ben Sheppard on the bari sax. The band played a few shows, but Nick had to leave the band so Brock Tacker from the band The Wife And Kids stared to fill in and later became the permanent drummer.

IACK recorded the first few songs that they wrote with a guy named Rob and that became the CKAF EP. Connor Kokarra, the frontman for The Wife And Kids began to play trombone for the band a few months after the EP was recorded. Time passed and Dan and Andrew graduated high school so Andrew had to quit the band for college. In September of 2014 Kyle Farley began to play bass for the band to make up the I Am Clark Kent everyone knows today.

Once the lineup was solidified IACK began to write music in a new direction that was much different than the ska punk tunes on the CKAF EP. The influences were more jazzy and incorporated a lot of math rock. The long awaited More Than Friends split was released with brother band The Wife And Kids which featured the last two songs of the previous style. The summer that was released IACK and TWAK hit the road for a east coast summer tour. After they got back they released a split with good friends Cheap Haircuts and Junior College and a band from Florida called Worst Party Ever. These two songs showcased the bands new sound, style, and direction.

I Am Clark Kent is continuing playing shows, and writing new music for the new full length album projected to be out sometime in the fall of 2015.
