About Gregg Allman

Gregg Allman ("Ramblin' Man"): Godfather of Southern Rock

Gregg Allman's voice, Sheryl Crow once said, sounds like "he'd already lived a thousand lifetimes." And that's a conservative estimate, considering the number of his achievements. Founding member and lead singer of the Allman Brothers Band, perhaps the best blues-rock group "ever", this Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has also had a lively solo career with a number of acclaimed albums, including "Laid Back" and "Searching for Simplicity", to his credit. Godfather of "Southern Rock" (a term Allman himself coined), this consummate guitarist, keyboardist and world-class improviser now comes to perform live at Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie. Hear hits like "Ramblin' Man," "Midnight Rider," "Sweet Melissa," "Whipping Post" and so many more from the man "Rolling Stone" ranked among the "Best Singers of All Time."
