About Peeler Rose Productions Llc

Dan Peeler & Charlie Rose: A Brief History

Dan Peeler and Charlie Rose have worked together for 25 years in the film and TV business as animators, puppeteers and graphic designers.

Mr. Rose joined Mr. Peeler as his business partner in 1983 having formed their children's entertainment company (Peeler Rose Puppet Shows) after many successful years working with Dan as a co-producer/animation director. Dan had begun his career in 1968 producing 22 animated segments for Sesame Street/Children's Television Workshop.

Later, they combined the animation and puppet company to form Peeler Rose Productions and produced programs and graphics for a variety of national clients. Among them were The Disney Channel, PBS, Warner Bros and The Learning Channel. Television commercial clients included Six Flags Over Texas, Kellogg's, Dr. Pepper, Pizza Hut and Frito Lay. Their longer programs began with one animated short teaching about racism called Oliver Jones for Simon & Shuster. They've produced and directed animated films for the Christian market from JOT, for the Southern Baptist Convention, to animated training films for the Mennonites, and 3 thirty minute animated children's films for Concordia Publishing.

Throughout their commercial career, they also designed and facilitated children's and family workshops in puppetry and art in various churches and Art Centers in Dallas and North Texas. In the early 1990’s they were contracted to re-design Chuck E. Cheese plus the entire cast of supporting characters, and to create their first Corporate Character Style Guide, which is still in use today. At the same time Peeler-Rose designed, animated and directed “Easter Egg Mornin’,” produced by singer/songwriter Bobby Goldsboro as the Disney Channel’s perennial Easter special, airing for more than a decade.

In the late ‘90’s, they designed, co-produced and directed over 50 episodes of the puppet/costume character syndicated series also with Bobby Goldsboro, ‘Swamp Critters of Lost Lagoon” for PBS and the Learning Channel. The series still airs on the Inspiration Cable Network in various markets.

Dan completed his theological education at Brite Divinity School at TCU and is also a Children and Family Minister in Dallas. Both Dan and Charlie are Artists-In-Residence at the Old Jail Art Center in Albany, Texas; consultants for Partners in Education for the United Church of Christ; and are members of SCBWI: Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators.
