"The Kountry Girls": Musical Drama About Small-Town Love & Regret

Love and lies, regret and redemption fill the stage in Art Centre Theatre's world-premiere production of this country musical drama. "The Kountry Girls" centers around Katy, a mother and owner of a struggling small-town diner who's had a long, rough road since her short marriage to the wealthy Clinton was forcibly terminated by his mother. But now that Clinton's mother has passed, Katy wonders if they could give their love a second chance. Unfortunately, Katy has already married Butch, a second-rate country singer who lives hard and fast, leaving a trail of wreckage in his wake. Is there forgiveness and redemption for this seemingly hopeless tangle of love and lies? All of the actors in "The Kountry Girls" play at least one musical instrument, and the story unfolds as much in song as it does in dialogue.
