Paul Taylor Dance Company: Best in Modern Movement

The Paul Taylor Dance Company, a national treasure since 1954, makes its always welcome return to Dallas, with the local premiere of "Diggity" (1978), along with "Beloved Renegade" (2008) and "Cloven Kingdom" (1976). Dubbed the "naughty boy" of dance by Martha Graham, Taylor's not only one of the greatest contemporary choreographers of the 20th century, he's also one of the 21st century's most daring modern-dance innovators, still creating well into his 80s. His 16-member company embodies his continuing genius and nurtures new talent -- Tony-winners Twyla Tharp and David Parsons are among its many distinguished alumni. After performing in more than 500 cities and 62 countries, they're back at Richardson's Eisemann Center, where they first came to perform in 2002 in celebration of the the venue's opening.
