"Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog", the campy, Emmy-winning made-for-the-web musical miniseries, gets adapted and brought to life on stage at Plano's Art Centre Theatre. Co-created by writer-producer Joss Whedon ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "The Avengers") and originally starring Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion, the story follows the tongue-in-cheek adventures of aspiring arch-villain Dr. Horrible, who wants to join the prestigious Evil League of Evil but is constantly foiled by Captain Hammer, a super hero with an enormous ego. Things get even more interesting when Dr. Horrible falls for the beautiful Penny, the homeless rights advocate he meets at the laundromat. But Penny sets her sights on the conceited Captain Hammer after he apparently saves her life. Can Dr. Horrible overcome the hero and get the girl?
