Dallas Chamber Symphony: "Sight of Sound"

About Dallas Chamber Symphony: "Sight of Sound"

New Films Paired With Classical Music From Grieg, Pärt, Elgar and Glass

Disney's "Fantasia" introduced scores of children to the wonders of classical music by presenting the compositions alongside animated action sequences. Who can forget Mickey Mouse as "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", frantically trying to corral all the broomsticks he's brought to life? What Disney did for Dukas' composition, the Dallas Chamber Symphony is doing for works by Grieg, Pärt, Elgar, Glass and other composers in "Sight of Sound", a pairing of new silent films with live classical music at Dallas City Performance Hall. The show includes live-action films from students at USC, UCLA, CalArts and other esteemed programs. Your ears and eyes will thank you.
